Pathophysiology is the science that studies the general patterns of disease onset, development and outcome.

The purpose of this science is to reveal the laws by which a disease develops, so pathophysiology answers the following questions:

Pathophysiology is closely related to other sciences: for its full understanding, knowledge of anatomy, histology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry and normal physiology is required; it is horizontally related to pathomorphology and pharmacology; it is a necessary basis for further study of clinical disciplines.

Pathophysiology is an experimental science, but at the same time it is the theoretical basis of medicine and the scientific foundation of clinical practice. It has countless topics for scientific research and many different methods for their realization.

Since pathophysiology is quite multifaceted, in addition to the above, it also significantly broadens the worldview of the future doctor and allows for a better understanding of the principles of medical ethics, which can be found in more detail in other articles in this section.
